September 22, 2020 - One of our football coaches tested positive for COVID-19 Monday morning Sept 21 st . He has not been on campus. But he did coach our football team Saturday Sept 19 th . Therefore our coaches, football players and managers have been excluded from school and all activities until Oct 5 th . Students will receive instruction through distance learning. Coaches and teachers will be contacting them. We will not be playing our next two football games. Homecoming has been moved to Oct 23rd.
September 2nd - If your student has been diagnosed with Covid or is experiencing Covid symptoms please take a few moments and fill out this questionnaire. Completing the survey is extremely important as information is key to helping us act responsibly and in our student's and faculty's best interests.
July 30th - Tonight the Perry County School Board approved to delay the start of school for students until August 17th. It also approved the use of an A/B hybrid school for students to attend school.
This hybrid schedule we would split our classes in half, keeping family groups together, and have one group come a day...then the other group comes the next day. The day the students don't come will be a distance learning day. They will have assignments to work on at home. We still have to account for their work at home in order for the student to be counted present.
This type of schedule eliminates half the traffic in the schools and on the buses. It reduces class sizes for better social distancing. Students will go face-to-face one day; then the next day they will do distance learning. On the days the students are getting face-to-face instruction, the class size will be so small that we believe our teachers can spend MORE instructional time with each individual student.
